The Role

IGEL Technology has a great opportunity for an experienced communications person to join our team in Bremen, to drive and deliver the next phase of internal communications across our entire company, reaching nearly 400 employees. The brand-new role of Internal Communications Manager is responsible for worldwide communications to connect IGEL employees to the business, to our products and to important news throughout the company. Reporting to the Chief People Officer (CPO), the manager will work with HR, knowledge management, marketing and other groups across all IGEL locations to tell powerful stories and design communications through various media.


  • Develop and execute a strategic, scalable internal communications plan, identify key messages and craft materials that effectively convey relevant and timely information to diverse audiences as part of a cohesive corporate communication program
  • Lead the content strategy and execution of employee-focused communications through channels including the intranet, emails, company newsletter, LinkedIn and more
  • Create and maintain an editorial calendar for content, working in partnership with other teams to ensure that the content and campaigns are aligned with key priorities
  • Assist the knowledge management team in analyzing the effectiveness of the intranet structure for multi-directional communication, working with other teams to continually improve and scale the intranet for the company’s communication needs
  • Support the CPO and Executive Leadership Team with employee town hall meetings and e-Staff communications
  • Plan, create and implement multimedia assets (images, video, audio) for internal communication
  • Strengthen the company branding toward employees and potential new hires, working with the talent management team to improve employee engagement and encourage employees to be champions for our brand
  • Work with the knowledge management team to develop communications metrics reports with analysis and insights, making and implementing recommendations to continually improve the quality and effectiveness of employee communications


  • 6+ years of experience in a related role, specifically requiring exemplary communications skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Extremely organized (gets energy from roadmapping, planning, envisioning the path)
  • Skilled at utilizing a broad mix of communication methods, delivery mechanisms and channels
  • Able to think and do — someone who can both generate ideas and implement them
  • Relationship-oriented and flexible in the face of organizational change and shifting priorities
  • Interest in informative and thoughtful design
  • Fluent in English (required) and German (preferred)
